Duties included legal interface with local communities regarding feasibility and placement of railroad crossings and warning devices, legal support for real estate department regarding railroad property lease and title claims, management of environmental law matters, including chemical and petroleum spills, diesel emission claims and negotiation and settlement of TNRCC reclamation claims. Additional responsibilities included management of outside counsel for Texas and Oklahoma cases, legal support for railroad spur service and abandonment issues and collection of delinquent freight charges.
